Stuffed Milagai Bajji / Stuffed Chilli Bajji

I always love to prepare chilly bajji at home. This time, instead of making it as such, I stuffed the chillies with potato masala. The taste is very different from the usual one and we all loved it.

Ingredients :

1. Green Chilly - 10
2. Besan - 1 Cup
3. Ginger-Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
4. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
5. Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp
6. Red Chilly Powder - 3/4 tsp
7. Salt - Needed Qty
8. Oil - To Fry

For the Filling :

1. Medium Potato - 4 (Cooked)
2. Onion - 1/2 Cup (Chopped Finely)
3. Red Chilly Powder - 3/4 tsp or adjust to your taste.
4. Garam Masala - 1 tsp
5. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
6. Oil - 1/2 tbs
7. Salt - Needed Qty

Procedure :

1. Mash potato. Add red chilly powder, salt and garam masala with the potato. Keep aside.

2. In a pan, heat oil. Splutter mustard. Add onion. Saute till onion turns golden brown.

3. Now add the mashed potato. Mix well.  Allow to cook in medium flame.

4. Once cooked, let the potato masala cool.

5. Now, in a bowl mix besan, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, baking powder and red chilly powder together.

6. Add a little quantity of water and make a thick batter. Add a little water if needed.

7. Take warm water in a vessel. Add salt. Soak green chillies for 15 minutes.

8. Then, slit the green chillies vertically. Remove the seeds completely.

9. Fill the potato masala in the chillies.

10. Dip the stuffed chillies in the batter and deep fry till golden yellow.

11. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
