Avarakai Poriyal



Ingredients:

1. Avarakai - 2 Cup (Cut in to small pieces)
2. Onion - 1/2 Cup (Cut)
3. Channa dhal - 1 tsp
4. Red Chilly - 2
5. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
6. Pepper - 1/4 tsp
7. Coconut - 2 tsp
8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
9. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
10. oil - 2 tsp
11. Salt - Needed qty
12. Curry leaf - Small qty

Procedure:

1. Cook avarakai along with salt.
2. Dry roast channa dhal,red chillies,cumin and pepper.
3. Grind them to a fine powder.
4. In a pan, add oil. Pop mustard. Fry onion to golden brown.
5. Now, add the cooked avarakai, then turmeric powder and mix well.
6. Add the ground powder and coconut. Mix the contents well and keep as such for 10 minutes in low flame.
7. Garnish with curry leaf.

My whole family loves avarakai. I try to make avarakai atleast 2 times a week. So I always looking for different recipes to try with avarakai. I am sure going to try your method. Thanks.
