Peas and Potato in Coconut Milk Gravy

This is the recipe I learnt from my mom. But, I have modified her original recipe a bit...

Ingredients:

1. Potato - 2 (Cut, cook & keep aside)
2. Peas - 1 Cup (Fresh)
3. Onion - 1 Cup (Finely Chopped)
4. Tomato - 2 (Chopped)
5. Garlic - 10 Cloves
6. Green Chilly - 3 or adjust to your taste
7. Coconut - 1/4 Cups (Grated)
8. Coconut Milk - 1 Cup
9. Bay Leaf - 2
10. Saunf - 1 tsp
11. Cinnamon - 2 sticks
12. Cardamom - 2
13. Garam Masala - 1 tsp
14. Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
15. Oil - 3 tsp
16. Water - 1 Cup
17. Salt - Needed qty
18. Coriander - Small qty

Procedure:

1. Pre-heat 3 tsp of oil in a pan. Add bayleaf, saunf, cardamom and cinnamon sticks. Fry for a minute.
2. Now, add onion and garlic cloves. Fry well till both turns golden brown. Add tomato and fry for a minute.
3. Add peas, 1 cup of water and salt. Allow the contents to boil well till the peas get cooked.
4. Now, add cooked potatoes. Mix well.
5. Grind 1/4 cup coconut with green chillies and add it to the contents in the pan.
6. Mix well and cook on medium heat for another 10 minutes.
7. Switch off the stove. Wait for few minutes and finally add coconut milk. Mix the contents well.
8. Garnish with coriander.
9. Serve hot with any paratha/rice.
